Mark penned a piece for Guardian Australia about his father's diagnosis with dementia. A UK filmmaker, David Williams, is now making a short film inspired by that story, to help raise awareness about the impacts of the disease.

Uncommon Grounds – a creative project for Facebook

In 2019, Facebook launched Uncommon Grounds, in which they paired up six creatives from around the world with digital-savvy up-and-comers.

Across three disciplines – visual, writing and film – the brief was to show the power of meaningful connection and relationships to the millennial audience.

For Mark, working on an Instagram Story meant making a shift from long-form content to a shorter length piece. Enter Orion Carloto, a poet who uses personal experiences to fuel her work, which she publishes on social media.
